Concrete levelling, Syracuse NY

Sunken concrete, lifted back into line.

Driveways, walkways, garage floors and steps raised from underneath, usually in a single visit, without tearing out the slab you already paid for.

About Salt City Concrete Leveling

Salt City Concrete Leveling lifts settled concrete back to level instead of tearing it out and pouring it again. Driveways, walkways, garage floors, patio slabs and steps, put back where they were.

The slab is not usually the problem. The ground under it is. Soil settles, water finds a route, and a void opens beneath concrete that is otherwise sound.

What we work on

Lifting keeps the slab you already own, which is the cheaper and quicker of the two options and leaves nothing to haul away. Replacement is the right answer when a slab is genuinely broken up, and we will say so.

Services

Driveways, walkways, garage floors and steps

Three kinds of work, all of them the same idea: fill what is missing under the slab and put the surface back where it started.

Concrete slab lifting

Sunken slabs raised back to level from underneath, so the concrete you already own stays where it is.

Driveways and walkways

Driveways, front walks and garage aprons brought back into line, including the trip edges between slabs.

Void filling and stabilisation

The washed-out ground beneath a slab filled and stabilised, which is the reason most concrete settles in the first place.

Settled.

A wide crack running across a concrete surface

A slab that has dropped at one edge collects water, catches a toe, and moves again next winter. The crack is the symptom. The gap underneath is the reason.

Syracuse winters

Freeze and thaw is the local problem. Water gets under a slab, expands, and leaves a void behind when it goes. The same driveway settles a little further every year until something is done about it.

On site

Drilled, filled,
patched, done

Small ports are drilled through the slab, the void beneath is filled until the concrete returns to level, and the ports are patched.

Ask about your slab

What happens, in the order it happens

1. Look at it

We come out, measure the drop, and work out whether the slab is worth lifting or genuinely needs replacing.

2. A price, in writing

One number for the work described. If we find something underneath that changes it, you hear before anything else happens.

3. The lift

Ports drilled, void filled, slab brought back to level, ports patched. Most jobs are one visit.

Not sure if it can be lifted?

Send a photograph of the slab and where it has dropped. We will tell you either way.

What we work on

Three kinds of settled concrete.

If it has dropped, cracked at a joint or opened a trip edge, it is usually the ground underneath rather than the slab itself.

Lift, or replace

Not every slab
is worth lifting

A slab that has settled is usually a candidate. A slab that has broken into pieces, spalled through, or lost its edges generally is not, and lifting it would be selling you a repair that fails.

Ask about a specific slab

A photograph of the slab, and one of where it has dropped, is usually enough to say whether it can be lifted.

About

The slab is rarely the problem.

Soil settles, water finds a route, and a void opens under concrete that is otherwise perfectly sound. Levelling fills that void instead of replacing what sits on top of it.

The business

Salt City Concrete Leveling

Concrete levelling is the smaller of the two options. The slab stays, the ground under it is filled, and there is nothing to break up and cart away.

How we quote

One price, and a reason for it

The quote names the slab, the drop being corrected and the price. If something under the concrete changes the job, you hear about it before the work continues rather than after it.

Ask about your slab

Tell us what has moved and we will tell you whether it can be lifted.
