Booking now through October A 30-minute arrival window, in writing 1,404 of 1,412 hires on time last year Free delivery within 12 miles of Kingsley Every unit washed after every hire

Set up, checked and gone before the first guest arrives

Inflatable hire across Kingsley and eight towns around it. You get a thirty-minute arrival window in writing — and if we miss it, the hire is free.

Late is not a small failure in this trade. The party is at two. So the window is a term of the booking rather than something we aim for.

Who we are

Larkin hires out inflatables in Kingsley and the eight towns around it. Everything on this page that sounds like a promise is a rule with a penalty attached, because a company that only says it is reliable is asking you to gamble a child’s birthday on a stranger’s word. You are not really hiring a castle. You are hiring the ninety minutes before the party — and the only thing that matters is that we are already gone by the time the doorbell starts.

What we cover

Three jobs that look the same and are not

A castle in a garden and a castle on a school field are the same castle and almost nothing else in common. What changes is the paperwork, the crew and what time we have to be finished by.

Two children in a back garden set up for a party

Back gardensOne unit, a gate we have measured, and a setup you never see.

Delivered, anchored and tested in about 40 minutes Grass stakes or 60 lb sandbags, photographed either way Collected after dark so the party never ends on us From $185 for four hours
Children running across a school playing field

Schools & churchesA certificate in your name, an attendant on site, and a load-in that fits a bell schedule.

Insurance certificate naming your institution, emailed the day you book A trained attendant per unit for the whole session On site before the first bus, off the field before pickup From $340 per unit per day
A large colourful inflatable park with several units in use

Fairs & public eventsSeveral units, our own power, staffed all day, and a wind plan agreed in advance.

Up to eight units, silenced generators, our own cabling Queue management and a named site lead you can find A written wind plan, and we make the call, not you From $1,150 for a full day
They were pulling away at 12.02 for a party at half twelve. I had budgeted an hour of standing in the drive with my phone. I iced the cake instead.

Last year, in full

The eight times we were late

Out of 1,412 hires. Every rental company in this county will tell you it is reliable. Here is the version with the receipts attached: what date, whose party, how many minutes, whose fault, and what we did about it.

14 March · Rowan 22min

Bridge Street closed for a burst main with no notice. Driver went the long way round the reservoir.

Hire refunded in full.

2 May · Kingsley 40min

Our fault. The van was loaded with the wrong unit and we did not notice until the gate measurement failed on the drive.

Refunded, and the family got the next hire free.

18 May · Ashgate 15min

Blower failed its pre-hire test on the driveway. Swapped from the spare in the van rather than risk it.

Hire refunded in full.

7 June · Millbrook 35min

Traffic on the Fairview road after a collision. We rang at 08:20 to say we would miss it, which does not make it on time.

Hire refunded in full.

21 June · Bellwood 12min

Access gate was padlocked and the key holder was at work. Twelve minutes lost waiting, then carried the unit round the side.

Refunded. We now confirm gate access the day before.

9 August · Hartley 55min

Our fault. Two crews were double-booked for the same 9am slot by a manual override on the calendar.

Refunded, plus the caterer’s late fee. The override is gone.

30 August · Netherby 18min

Ground was too soft to stake after three days of rain. Re-sited to the patio and re-anchored with sandbags.

Hire refunded in full.

12 October · Fairview 25min

Second delivery of the day ran over because the first site would not release our crew until their photographer had finished.

Refunded. Same-day doubles now have a 90-minute gap.

The rule is one line and it has one exception. If we arrive outside the thirty-minute window on your booking confirmation, the hire is free — you do not have to ask and we do not have to agree it was our fault. The exception is that if we stand a unit down for wind or lightning, that is a cancellation and a full refund, not a late arrival.

Hire is from $185 for four hours including delivery, setup, anchoring and collection within twelve miles of Kingsley. Beyond that it is 90¢ a mile, quoted on the booking rather than added afterwards. Every unit is washed, dried and logged after every single hire — the date above is the last time each one went through the bay, and you can ask to see the log.

What you are paying for

There is always a cheaper quote

Usually about sixty-five dollars cheaper. This is what the sixty-five dollars is made of. If none of it matters for your afternoon, take the other quote — we would.

Tell us the date and the postcode and you will have a written window, a price and a certificate the same day. If we cannot cover it, we will say so in that reply rather than three days later.

Where the promises are kept or not

A loaded van standing open before the first delivery of the day

The yard, ten past six

Two vans, loaded the night before against a printed run sheet, and a third checked and kept empty so a failed blower is a fifteen-minute problem instead of a cancelled party.

A pressure washer being run over an inflatable in the wash bay

The wash bay, every evening

Every unit comes back, gets washed and disinfected, and hangs until it is dry all the way through — a unit rolled away damp is how a bounce house starts to smell, and the date it happened goes in the log.
