What we do

Six ways, every one priced before we start

Domestic and small commercial. If a job needs notifying, we notify it; if it needs a certificate, you have it the same week. That is not an upsell.

Kade Electric · Rowan Indicative · fixed on survey
01

Consumer unit upgrade

Old fuse box to an 18th-edition board with RCBOs on every way. Full test and an installation certificate, notified to building control by us.

$680Fitted, 1 day
02

Full & partial rewires

Room by room or whole house, with a plan agreed before a floorboard comes up. We chase, patch and leave it decoration-ready rather than walking away at first fix.

From $3,900Quoted per property
03

Fault finding

Tripping breakers, dead sockets, lights that dim when the kettle goes on. Diagnosed properly with test gear rather than replaced hopefully, one part at a time.

$120First hour, then $85
04

EV charger installation

Load assessment first, so you find out before you buy whether your supply takes 7kW. Approved installer for the main brands, and we handle the DNO notification.

From $890Incl. survey
05

Lighting design & install

Circuits planned around how a room is actually used, not a grid of downlights. Dimming, zones and switching worked out on paper before anything is cut.

QuotedDesign free
06

EICR & landlord certificates

Full periodic inspection with every observation coded, photographed and explained in plain English — not a list of C2s and a quote to fix them.

$185Up to 10 ways

Good electrical work is the work you never think about again.

Nobody admires a consumer unit. The whole job is to be invisible for twenty-five years — which is why we test what we install, certify what we test, and put the paperwork in your name rather than filing it in ours.

Why choose us

The price is fixed. The certificate is yours.

Pricing

Fixed before we start

Surveyed, priced in writing, and that is the figure. If we open a wall and find something nobody could have known about, work stops and you get a new number first.

Testing

Every circuit, every time

Continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, loop impedance and RCD timings, with the readings on the certificate. You can hand it to any other electrician and it will make sense.

Notifying

We do the paperwork

Notifiable work is registered with building control by us, at no extra charge. You get the compliance certificate by email, and it stays valid when you come to sell.

People

Seven engineers, all employed

Nobody subcontracted, all 18th edition, all with their own test gear calibrated annually. The same engineer comes back if anything needs a second look.

How it works

Four steps, and the price does not move

01

Survey

We look at the board, the supply and what you actually want. Half an hour, free, and no obligation at the end of it.

02

Fixed price

In writing, itemised, with what is included and what is not. It stays valid for sixty days and it does not change afterwards.

03

Install

Dust sheets down, a date we keep, and power back on every evening wherever the job allows it. You are told when it will not.

04

Test & certify

Every circuit tested with the readings recorded, notified to building control, and the certificate emailed to you within the week.

Reviews

What Rowan says

Found a borrowed neutral two other electricians had missed, showed me the readings on the meter, and explained why it mattered. The bill was the number he said on the phone.
S. AmankwahRowan · fault finding
Full rewire, nine days, and they patched every chase properly so the decorator had nothing to complain about. The certificate was in my inbox before the scaffolding left.
D. VasquezMillbrook · full rewire
They checked the supply before quoting the charger and told me I needed a load upgrade first. Two other firms would have fitted it and left me tripping the main every winter.

Questions

The ones we get asked

Q1 Is the survey and the quote free?
Yes, both, and there is no obligation at the end of it. About half an hour on site for most jobs. The written quote stays valid for sixty days and it is itemised, so you can compare it against anyone else’s properly.
Q2 Do you notify building control?
Yes, for anything notifiable, and it is included rather than added on. You get the compliance certificate by email. This matters more than it sounds: unnotified work shows up in a conveyancing search and holds up a sale.
Q3 Can you work around us living here?
Usually. On a rewire we work room by room and put the power back on every evening wherever the stage of the job allows it. Where it genuinely cannot go back on, you are told which nights before we start, not on the day.
Q4 How quickly can you come out?
Emergencies — no power, burning smell, water near a board — average about ninety minutes inside Rowan. Everything else is usually within three working days, in a two-hour window rather than a whole day.
Q5 What does the EICR actually tell me?
The condition of every circuit, with each observation coded C1, C2, C3 or FI and photographed. We explain what each one means and which genuinely need doing now. You are never obliged to have us do the remedial work.
Q6 Which areas do you cover?
Rowan, Millbrook, Ashgate, Bellwood, Kingsley and Hartley. Beyond that we will still take emergency calls, but we will be honest about how long we would take to get to you.
